From these pictures provided, it looks like an original one.
          Repair looks period done.

Any pictures of the inside and markings please?

          Regards

              Hello,
with all respect, calling this Feldmüze 34/35 "near mint" is a bit too much.
A lot of nap wear (i don't like some) , some repairs....
Please when you receive it, post pictures showing the grommets from inside ?
"near mint" items play a division above IMO.

would you point out the repair, please. I did not recognized that. Is it the approaches in pic 4?

I think the repair is in pic 4 at the back end of the cap.
                  Cheers
                  Dave.

                    maybe size modification ?
                    anyway, more pics would help.
                    and i agree with JPhilip.

I'm not sure that is a repair... If it was a later war cap I would say that is the way it was made....

I agree I don't think this is a repair, just an economy measure, that is using smaller peices of cloth sewn togther in order to fiish the cap. More then likley a mid-war piece.

                          Hello,
Any member can have is own personal opinion about this Feldmütze being repaired or produced this way...not a problem....but for me 1940 sounds like a pretty early date concerning WWII. Mid-war should be around 1942.
It looks like there was a soutache that has been removed.

Sorry missed the 1940 date, relax, so it's early war, with a piece added by the manufacturer in order to finish the thing in 1940!

friends, I have it now in hand, nice stamp inside, and this saw on the upper side is fabric done, no repair:
