    Schutzpolizei Officer's crusher-style Schirmmütze

This came straight from a Hanover family last saturday, still boxed and apparently unworn. I wasn't too surprised to find the fat chin cords on these (as it is a Welhausen cap again ) but I have never seen a leather peak on a genuine Polizei visor. Thought I share this and ask others how common they are... any more out there?

    Are these Polizei Knautschmützen?

    Kurt

Great hat Kurt ,very very nice ,I love it !
No problem for the leather visor ,probably the officer asked for a exta in this visor
                  Ciao

                    Kurt,

You stink! Ha ha...that's exactly the type of Police officers cap I've been looking for. That's probably the only one in existence, so I guess I'll just have to go without...unless you decide to sell. If you do I'll take back the "you stink" quote.

Seriously, congratulations on a great find. Put my name in the cap for future reference when you get senile and decide to sell.

                    Richard

Simply phenomenal--the best Schupo visor I have seen this year. You have to love Welhausen products--narrow bodies with sky-high peaks and fat chincords.

Welhausen seemed to use leather visors more than any other maker. Even their Vulkanfiber visors are thin (to look like leather).

                      Killer....

Except for the leather peak and the 2-piece eagle, my Gendarmerie could be your Schupo's twin....(my guy was a Hauptmann, but was too cheap to go for the leather and 2-piece eagle....)

Again Kurt !!!.....give that german shepard a rest, he's getting a little tired of running around the suburb's of Germany , sniffing Schirmmutze's out of attic's.

                              Nice cap and nice find.

Dont forget in your feeding frenzy, to threw a little food to that mutt .
