                    Hallo macca007

The inner maker's stamp looks me OK. It differs slightly from some other known real examples (e.g.: the closed top of 4 and the position of F), but I like the small and thin fonts.

Obviously, this is only my own opinion, because KUBACH was a prolific period maker, but on the other side his output is currently faked.

We have here many collectors and friends very expert about this topic and I think they will be very glad to share their deep knowledge. Just to start, these are some threads about real and faked field caps, where you can find a lot of interesting information:

I hope this will be helpful. Best regards

too bad, grommets are a decicive point to check.
so as i'm not realy comfortable with the pink soutache, and same for eagle's stiching,
and having just those avaible pics to make my opinion,
                        i would pass on it.

                          Ditto. Me also.
I do not like the soutache with the late subdued eagle. The 2 just do not go together.

The subdued eagle and the soutache is not a problem. The grey eagle was introduced in 1939. The stamp is bogus and the way things are sewn on do not match up with known originals that are this maker and F 1940. The soutache isn't the right material either. Nor is the stitching that keeps the cap body and the fold down part together. A very good fake, but fake in my opinion.
