        hi bilbert
        it is 100%german beetween 1942 and 45
my grandma had beena driver for the streetcar or tramway in our town,i just looked for the write words because english isnt my mothers tongue.
the town is called augsburg and what is to see on the cap is the town landmark with swastika below.
the landmark is a kind of nut in german called "zirbelnuss"but it is not to translate.
sadly it is the only picture i have.i think that kind off cap does not exist anymore.
but maybe other towns had same side caps for streetcar drivers.
it was just an idee to get more information.
        greetings

So this would be a municipal cap issued by the town.

You're unlikely to find anything like that here I think.

            strassenbahn - fahrtkarten schaffnerin

AdMan is correct! Its not railway (Reichsbahn)
The image shows your grandmother as a "Strassenbahn - fahrtkarten schaffnerin".
            (Tram conductor - driver "fahrerin")
More info (examples) in this link.

These are municiple light rail (tram - trolley) uniforms and each city has its own style..own insignia , own crest...

This is a wonderful picture! And thank you for the link. I suppose women were hired into these positions so the men could go off to fight the war. And many of those photos look like training.
