Good afternoon,
I picked this hat up from Barry (Stormfighter) on the E-stand this week and thought I'd post a couple of before and after pics. To me, this is where the real enjoyment in this hobby is; seeing the potential in a piece and bringing it back to life. He said he got it out of the woodwork and based on its condition I believe it. I was a little worried about whether-or-not my skills were up to the task, but after getting rolling on it I got real comfortable with how it was turning out. The hat came out of the box yesterday at 6PM and by Noon today it looked like this. My intent here is not to solicit strokes, but to show that every cloud may have a silver lining (or in this case, white piping)
The chinstrap is the original one that came with it. I had to constantly tighten it so it sat snuggly on the visor. Although I like it when the buckles are spaced further apart I didn't want to change this one. The only thing I added was a '38-dated eagle as the original one was broken.
Thanks for putting this guy up for sale Barry. I love it!!
