    SS Visor - What Do You Think?

    I apologise for the solitary picture but this afternoon was ina small militaria shop I know and he had this in the cabinet, and I was sneakily able to take a pic. I realise that many pictures are needed and hands on approach is best but from what you can see do you think this is an original SS Visor? (I have enlarged & cropped the original picture to get the other 2). From what I remember the underside of the visor is a creamy white/yellow colour.

        Hallo Hucks

        from this lone shot, in my personal opinion, the skull is a sort of fake M1/52 Deschler

        best regards

          Could be ok. The badges are fake but don't let that put you off. Wouldn't he let you take it out and handle it?

            I was more interested in an Oakleaves & Swords doc he had to an SS Divisional Cdr but just thought I'd take a quick pic of this at the last minute before heading off. It was next to an SS General's cap (it had silver waffenfarbe - I don't really collect SS caps so I assume that it was an SS General's cap.) (The one on the left of the attached pic).

                I went back to the shop this morning and was able to get a few more pictures, which i will post once I have downloaded them off of my phone. The inside has a makers logo for Schellenberg Sonderklasse and the texture of the cap itself is a kind of soft wool feel. I once posted pictures on this forum of an original Heer infantry crusher cap in my collection and one member said it looked like it had a boiled wool top to it, and this SS cap has the same kind of thing as the crusher.

                        what is the name of the shop and who is the recipient of the Oakleaves/Swords doc?

                        cheers

                          Oakleaves + Swords = Bochmann (Horst Wessel Divisional Cdr - images currently being discussed on another forum, where I will post a couple of better photos in an hour or so).

                          Shop = Parade (or Parades).

                            Insignia are really bad fakes ... the ersatz sweatband doesn't match with the quality I'd expect from a Schellenberg Sonderklasse in my opinion.

                              I had this little voice in my head saying that this cap looked familiar!
