SS M 43 cap with SS buttons - legit exception?

This cap has no markings. The lining is similar to rayon and is folded over to make a sweatband which is sown in place. The wool is very black which is not easy to get in the pics. The 2 SS buttons appear to be aluminum (non-magnetic) with a smooth obverse but a rough reverse as if cast. The rzm and M are not crisp.
I have tried to research this cap esp. the SS flap buttons on this forum, the internet including some repo sites. Many images in past threads are no longer posted.
From what I have seen so far, the SS buttons are suspicious but I don't know enough about these kinds of caps.
This cap came in a trade from an older dealer who attends the Max show among others and has assured me that this cap is "good".
Obviously, I need some knowledgeable input. Thanks in advance.

fantasy cap if i recall they were about $10.00 back in the day i think there are a few old treads on this paticular cap

In fact you can clearly see they are a 1 piece casting

Thanks, gentlemen. I am not surprised by your opinions but I wanted to get verification of my suspicions which I imply in my initial notes.
Getting those threads referred to isn't easy as I tried several search terms.
