I agree but anytime I see the word "elite" I get scared and run away

I agree, but my contention is that if your a seller in Germany you already know the rules and as a collector u also know SS and Nazi ect are taboo words. My point is simply this without actually holding the cap:
if your a WW2 German collector are you really going to let a good piece go for 500.00 Euros?

And if you have no idea what thus stuff is are you going to be fully aware to try to sneak this by eBay and use the term "elite"

could have been real I suppose cause it damn sure looked good on the outside

Yes, I'm absolut 100% agree with Gebirgsjäger!! Absolut!
If this cap would be good, he don't need ebay to get a real good price!! Not at all!

For a normal seller he use to much special words. Words which just collectors or people with background knowledge have.

The third point is, have a look on his many other auctions and you will see he is a one with knowledge!! He has a lot of WW2 items for sale.

This seller know absolut what he sales.

For me the cap is a put together from original and post war parts. It's a frankenstein cap!
Poor buyer!
