    dak cap authentic? Opinions please

    the cap has a leather sweatband and printed in dark ink 55 and below 1940, above this very faint is a rectangle and some printing starting with letter c or o, very faint.

          It looks like a nice original. The maker appears to be Carl Halfar. The leather SB is very interesting feature and it looks period application

                        WOW!!! Undoubtably a 100% original 1940-dated Carl Halfar panzer grenadier field cap. A classic Afrikakorps field cap with the nice custom addition of a partial leather sweatband. A superb centerpiece in any DAK collection. CONGRATULATIONS!

                          You could have stopped at the first photo and it would have been enough to authentic it as original. Fantastic cap.

                            It's not a partial leather sweatband. It's a full one. Kinda that Gebirgsjaegers would have.
