To pass on a tropical cap just because it lacks grommets is a poor idea. I have a great original that has no grommets and there are some pics that show tropical caps with out grommets. There are things I like and things I don't care for with this cap. I don't like the fact that there isn't any sewing lines on the underside of the bill of the cap and that there is no fading from where the cockade and eagle were. If this is legit cap you would expect to see a lot of fading around the insignia. Plus it is likly that the insignia would have been left on and the soutche removed when it was ordered in early 1941. I'd pass if it were me. Lack of grommets isn't a problem at all. It's a few of other details or lack of them that I don't like about this one.Comment
