Very nice beret...never seen a date stamp like that one. Always nice to see something you haven't seen. The insignia appears hand sewn...which means nothing, since they came sewn various ways. I wonder should the late date be accompanied by the later silver-gray insignia, or perhaps the beret tam was missing the insignia and the white was easier to find and added? Perhaps the whole tam was missing and this one is from an earlier helmet, as I have seen quite a few tams sold without the crash helmet.
Doesn't really matter since its all original and displays well and could have even been switched during the time period. Thanks for sharing.
