The eagle and cockade look authentic. Do you have any detailed photos of the back of the grommets? Also, where is the maker's stamp? Finally, the piping would indicate an officer's field cap, but doesn't the gold indicate that this would have been for a general officer? Where did you acquire this cap and can you give us any further details on its background?

Hi: Thanks for the post. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) it's not my cap and these are the only photos I have. You are correct that it is suposed to be an unissued general officer's cap. If I get more shots I'll post them here. Thanks again!
