I think this is some kind of shooting award. It looks like a target on the bottom.

No marking I can find but this is a very large size. I would say at least a 62. Close up of the T type insignia.

That cap is not a bergmütze...

Hello What makes a bergmutze? The peak looks taller and the visor looks smaller. What else should I look for. Thanks Kirby

That is indeed not a Bergmütze but a model between the Bergmütze and the M43...

Hi a textbook EM/NCO Bergmutze needs to have wooden buttons, a very short peak and not made by heavy late war wool but in quality early war wool. They appear mostly with a full sweatband but they also excist with a half or no sweatband at all.

On my screen, the color does indeed appear to be late-war. This would rule out a "transitional " piece.

Kirby is there any bias material under the top row of stiching to front scalops ? and if so what color is it

Hello Thanks for the opinions on the hat. So I guess it's a late war M43. Here is a color comparison with a Police Green and a SS. Kirby
