Thanks Bill, I don't consider this as a "true crusher" because of the non-leather visor.

        Hi Karl,
        See also this thread-

        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=356260

I posted it as the later wartime crusher "types" have been getting a lot or press lately and this one was actually made as a crusher, though it was not truely foldable.

          Hi Gerald,
I forgot about that other post (getting old I guess). You were completely accurate in your discretion of the cap. I'm just curious of what these are valued at.

True or not it's definitely a crusher and if I didn't have one already I would have bought it!! Great cap and IMO a great price!! Alex

I might be going out on a limb here but based on construction I think this one has a good chance of being a Schellenberg.

Thanks Alex and Karl. Those type caps are truely rare, I seldom see them.

                  Why eliminate the price?

I'm wondering why online dealers erase the price immediately after an item is sold? This is frustrating to the potential buyer (better luck next time!) is his attempt to see what these things are going for in the market. If it's an attempt to avoid confusion I don't think it achieves that purpose. Not only has the buyer missed the item, he doesn't even know what he has to ante up the next time another one comes around! At least the photos & description usually remain up for a while.

at the same time dealers leaving sold items on a site for a year are a pain
