    Another Panzer Visor For Review

    Hi,
I have the chance to obtain this named Panzer Officer's Visor. I have checked with the pinned thread on this particular logo and it doesn't seem to match the fake example, however it appears as if the sweatband has been attached 90 degrees in the wrong direction, i.e. the bow is above the ear, and there appears to be an extra bit of fabric sewn on the forehead portion. Other then that it seems to appear ok (extra padding in the crown?) but as my usual area of collecting is Wehrpasses & Soldbucher (I just buy the odd cap every now and then) I would appreciate any and all opinions....

Now that would leave a "Extra" imprint on your forehead.

The Cap in general looks good to me. As for the extra material on the liner, I have no idea what that is about. Any pics from behind the SB? It would be a hard sell to say that SB came in that configuration.

These are the only photos I have I'm afraid.
With regards to the SB being that way, would it not be a good indication that this is not fake as why would any decent faker worth his salt make such an error? But I can't think why it would be like that either.

There has been some pretty good threads about the Marke Standard/Extra Klasse marked caps. Have a look at the link. Some great Marke Standards in this thread.

That's the link I checked prior to posting - it doesn't match the fake example does it?

Not at all. Your cap is 100% good. The SB is the only concern.

Many thanks for the comments guys. I have decided to buy the cap and hopefully it will be in my hands in a few days.

                          Hello,
I think this is a wonderful visor cap with very distinctive insignia, especially the cap eagle. I have seen this type only on visor caps, where the eagle is a little squat and the wings are longer than normally encountered. It looks very nice. This cap maker also makes a nice quality cap. In my opinion, everything is legit, except that the sweatband has possibly been replaced, although it appears to be period done too.
                          Thank you,
                          Curtiss

Stonemint has made a very important statement regarding "Marke Standard" Extra Klasse caps in the past, the genuine ones all seemed to have a half velvet stirndrukrei system fitted.

Check for any evidence of this in the frontal area.
