Luft EM/NCO M-43 Cap For Sale

    Hi Guys,

Here is the companion piece to my Officer M-43. This is a totally awsome EM/NCO M-43, single button front with all machine sewn insignia, well marked, and a big size to boot (57 but wears like a 58)!

Price is: $550.00 USD + 4% to cover the PayPal fees. If you buy more than one of my caps I will pay the shipping. If not it will be determined by your shipping location.
    Thanks,
    Vince

Bad to me as well. Those markings are horrible, for starters.

sold yikes not an original imo dont like the wool the way the liner sits inside the cap ,application of insignias similar if not the same type i handled last year that was sent to me buy a forum member for a look and it bombed out big time
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

I agree with the rest of the folks that have posted as well . There is nothing about this cap that rings true.

                        Follow up

                        Hello Glenn,

As a follow up to my last note to you. I wish to appologize if I have come across as cross in any way. I have collected for many years and by no means know it all.

I am in the process of selling my entire collection of WW2 items from many countries to specialize in the collection of Iron Crosses 1813 thru 1957 and 1957 German decorations ONLY.

I just cannot deal with the fakes and some of the dirty, low-down people in this hobby these days. I started collecting in the 1960's. Back when our hobby was pure and free from all that is bad.

I just wanted you to know that I am not a "bad guy". I am a retired Police Officer and a 15 year veteran of our Special Forces.

I am sorry for the mess I may have caused you by listing these caps. I had no idea they were to be considered "bad. They were purchased from "reputable" dealers here in the USA, Both Larry Stewart in Arizona and a fellow named Terry Von Kohler back east.

If they are bad caps then I got burned by these fellows and do not wish to pass them on to others as real items. All 3 caps have been sold to a dealer here in the USA who is not a forum member. He belives them to be good caps and so be it as when I sold them to him I did also.

Please do not consider this a matter for the forum as it no longer is. In the future I promise to list an item for discussion prior to listing it for sale to avoid any future problems.

Just for the record, if is is not a 57er item or an Iron Cross I wont be dealing with it in the future.

I hope this note clears up this matter with you and again I appologize. Please feel free to check my activity on the 1957 German forum. Everyone is my friend and there have been no such problems only good collecting fun which is why I joined this forum to start with.

                        Sincerely & respectfully,

                        Vincent A. Leone

Thanks Vince, all this intel is good to know.

It is regrettable that you had to discover in this way that your caps are not authentic. The caps do not speak well for Larry or Terry's knowledge of WWII headgear. I hope that the current buyer and future buyers are better informed. These should not be represented as genuine!

One of the main benefits of this Forum is the prevention of situations like this. Militaria can be vetted here and mistakes avoided. I sincerely hope that your future collecting experiences will be good ones.

                          Regards,
                          John Hodgin

And BTW, there were indeed fakes in the 60s and 70s. Was collecting then as well.

Well Vince, consider this, back in the 60's, there wasn't an online community like this to advise collectors not to buy such dodgy caps as the ones you've been posting. So, how was the 60's more pure and free from all that is bad?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but I don't hear you naming the dealer that actualy bought your crappy caps no doubt to try and pass off to other poor suckers . Neither do I hear you say that you'll now refuse to sell them to that dealer for that very reason??!

I understand that money is money, you got burnt but you are now continuing the process by passing them along. I wasn't even born in the 60's but if that's how collectors behaved back then, I'm glad I wasn't around then. Apologizing about it does not solve what you've done.

Back then ??? Ben, I'd be curious to know in what part of Heaven you're living today... Why don't you come down here one of these days, and pay us a visit : the beers will be on me.
