Hi,
the out side and inside look like different caps as if a old linner fitted to a new cap.

I know very little about these hats, but that thought did cross my mind. There is visible glue where the bill meets the hat on the inside. Does the outside look repro or west german? The inside is in bad shape, the outside VG shape, no moth nips to speak of or any wear.

Harry, it's a good cap! Surely war time but a shame that heat ate up the sweatband.

Harry, I'd guess that the body/frame is kind of 'floppy' for lack of a better word as opposed to stiff as in the earlier pre war visors....not soft like a 'crusher' but really not stiff!
