I WAS JUST OFFERED THIS M43 LUFTWAFFE [ LIGHTWEIGHT CAP] AND WOULD LIKE SOME HELP PLEASE , COMMENTS ON THIS ONE IF PERIOD OR NOT. AS I WAS INTERESTED AS ALWAYS AND OF COURSE DID A SEARCH ON THE FORUM,. SOME COLLECTORS SAY THESE ARE SUMMER ISSUE 44 PERIOD AND SOME SAY THEY ARE JUST LATE WAR, as you can see this one has some wear and insignia is machine sewn, size is lightly stamped 55 To me after looking on the forum search i would say correct late war but would like to hear from others of course thank you David

Never hand one of these in hand but i like it. the are a few for sale on collectors guild, and all seem to only have size marking and no trace of an RB No or date so late war seems likey to me wish i had one best martin .

Looks like a nicer version of the late-war lightweight M43 I have w/full trap insignia

Nice cap David. I have the same one with the machine stitched trap. You can encounter these machine sewn or hand sewn.

IMO, they are just a late-war variation.

                    nice original David
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
