I have to disagree with an above comment -- such a unique hat is definitely worth lots of broadband space...

After reading the input from the other posts it seems that the consensus is that this is a tropical generals umpire cap (post 42) with Italian made insignia? It must be the rarest of the rare!

Interior looks like a U.S. officer's hat of circa anywhere from 1941 to 19??.

No Italian hats that I know of have that type of Interior. Yes probably movie prop.
