    Winter Fur Cap

Goodday fellow collectors, I have in my collection a rabbit fur cap I rescued from a fellow soldier when I was in the Army back in 82'. He wore it a few time when we went to Korea for Team Sprit and I didn't want to see it ruined. I forget what I gave him for it but it was cheap. He told me his father brought it back from when he was in WW2 (his dad was 68 at the time I got it).
What I always thought what was strange is the pin holes on the inside flap don't conform to Heer insignia but looks more like SS. Am I right or just wishing?

looks original maybe the holes line up to a visor wreath and cockade ? or some one could have had an ss skull or eagle at one time
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

The holes are off cantered from each other and I've laid a few different cockades and wreaths I have. The distance between the holes closer to the cap are about an Inch and a 1/8 were as most wreaths are 2 3/4 inch There are Two sets of holes where the Eagle would go, one like it was center set and other higher.
