    Thanks!

I don't like any of them, particularly that tropical (that's a fantasy piece it looks like to me). What are they asking for them? Are they saying they're original WW2?

Here's a real junior officer KM peaked cap. Note the price.

Herr Weitze is asking (all prices in Euros) 1850 for the tropical cap, 1300 for the KM Junior officer (with wire emblems), and 1400 for the KM Junior Officer's cap by Erel. He guarantees his pieces to be "as original manufacture of the period stated".

The tropical hat appears in period photos and is featured on page 326 of Angolia's "Die Kriegsmarine: Uniforms and Traditions", and is also in a period photo on page 318.

By the way, here is the link to the Erel sweat diamond:

          Angolia "Die Kriegsmarine" Volume 2

Forgot to mention that the tropical cap is in Volume 2 of Angolia's KM series.

You really need a hands-on inspection to be sure with KM caps. There is nothing obviously wrong with the caps, but the photos are very small and not well enough detailed to be sure.

Prices are about right by averages in Europe.

The cap offered by the Collectors Guild is OK but not in great condition and about $1000 overpriced by European standards They may fetch that price in the States but not over here.

The tropical KM visor caps are perfectly valid, but they are being copied. There was one without insignia , brand new, on EBay not so long ago.

I have to agree with Gordon. I saw this thread yesterday, but didn't want to answer first as I've only owned a couple of KM caps over the years. Still, I
have to say that nothing about any of these three caps, taken individually,
throws up any kind of red flags to me. At least not from the pics. In hand,
it may be a different story.

Well, I took the plunge and have purchased the KM Junior Officer's cap discussed earlier in this thread. I really appreciate everyone's opinions to-date.

Now I would like to offer some better pictures of the cap and see what the expert consensus is. I must say that this cap's condition is beautiful – it’s hard to imagine that the condition could be upgradable. Please let me know what you think vis-à-vis authenticity.

                Thanks in advance,

                Erik
