    Alexandre,
you are totally correct. Without rock solid providence that this cap is from the vet, it is hard to prove this is an SS m43, so hence I would pay 450 for it.
Personally if i found an un-rbn stripped cap, i would pay a little more for it, and apply the insignia and voila...good economic sense

nothing bad about your honesty and nothing bad about both cap , nice and originals, you have posted in the E-stand!!

But, I would like to say ,IMO, like 80% of the E-stand pieces, the caps are over-priced.

Both cap are clearly reapplied , so for the same result, it's smarter and cheaper to buy a

    M43 stripped 450+TK/eagle 600 = 1000 euros

    or

    M43 stripped 450+Bevo trap 250 = 700 euros

When I buy a rare piece clearly rebuilt , I always estimate the value with this simple method....and I don't have to pay someone 1000 bucks or more for 20 minutes of stitching!!

There is some good discussion here and I am pleased that Jacques found those previous threads interesting and useful.

My only question in this current discussion is where can I get an SS TK & eagle for Euro 600 as a pair ? One would more likely today to have to pay Euro 1000 for such a pair and you would have to buy them very quickly because such SS badges sell fast.

I think we need to adjust our estimate of value to 1400 Euro in total (cap 400, badges 1000)

1000 Euro is on the light side for an SS M43 these days,

Guys, please feel free to sell your M43 for any price and make adjustments to the price of Your cap anyway you wish. Norge wants $2500 for his cap and it is his right and his cap. If you don't want it, or do not believe it is SS, or simply want to save $1000 = go ahead and buy a Heer cap, put SS trap on it / make it SS and live with "100%-put-together" cap.

          bnz, I agree.

My comment was not aimed at the seller who has every right to sell for what ever price he wants. His price is, "an offer to all the world and an invitation to treat"

On the other hand however the price a buyer pays is based on feelings of satisfaction or utility that they get from an item. This will determine how much they will pay, how often they will buy and how they feel before & after the event.

My approach to pricing an item which has been put together is to start by pricing the components which have been used to make it. In this case I feel the component parts are worth around 1400 Euro.

Now if someone wants to pay more than 1400 Euro then that is their right and if someone wants to sell for less than 2500 Euro then that is their right but some where between these prices the buyer will hopefully meet the seller.

When an item has been altered from what it was originally or is not quite the norm then a fair price is harder to determine,

450 for a stripped SS hat? Please let me know where I can buy one! Heer = MAYbe at its best, but never for SS.
Stripped SS tunic goes for 5-10 times more than Heer tunic (btw this one has been sold already):

And I have no reason not to believe "norge" when he said that IT IS SS

Yes, I see the point you are making but lets not forget that this cap has an "RB" number in it and that means it has a far greater chance of being WH than SS (Heer manufacturer ?, Period altered to SS ?)

A stripped M43 with an RB number is basically a stripped WH cap so 400 to 450 Euro is not unfair,

                Hello

To close the discussion about my estimation..

I see no difference between a ss and a heer cap , except the marking , but the theory of the Rbnr is for the moment...a theory.

It can't be compared with tunics, heer and ss tunic have their own characteristics

About the traces of insigna, like I said before, I don't care for it...I know some collectors , 70 years old.
These guys have desewn ,sewn, resewn, many tunics and caps since 45 years...depending to their taste of the moment heer to ss, infantery transformed in artillery , signal to panzergrenadiers...etc

It's a shame now to think about all these alterations, but it was like that in France for many collectors some years ago...

So, I can assure you it's impossible to say if a trace of ss eagle was done by a collector in the 50's or a tailor in 44.

And about the price of TK + eagle , maybe my value reference is not collector guild or ruptured duck ...but I have never buy or sell a set for more than 600/700 euros.

At the end, I agree with most of you, everyone is free to ask the price he want for a piece!!

But the result is clear!! many pieces in the E-stand are not priced to sell
you can find WP jump smock, ss helmet cover, M41 heer tropical tunic!!
                rare items for sure...but unsold!

                  Hello alexandre,

if you have any sets of SS TK & eagle for 600 to 700 Euro then could you please PM as I am keen to buy.

The prices of such items with the dealers which you quote is more like 1000 Euro and fast starting to go up to 1250 Euro.

                  Regards, Chris
