I have a question about the first hat postetd.
This late war insinia is Heer or Todt?
                    Thanks.

It is Heer, several versions of this insignia and it's breast eagle counterparts will have different color backings.

Lenny, sweet cap!! The lining seems to extra padded in front. Is that so, or just the photo? Also what would the 22 at the back of the lining signify? Mike.

Only speculation on my part but I suspect perhaps some sort of quality control stamp (perhaps even the factory workers #). Here is another in this EM's hat upgraded to officer with the addition of hand sewn crown piping.

could be a material bolt # as well hard to say and the picture gives the forhead area a puffy look but nothing more than the usual extra material from the visor
