Hello Tonik,

Sorry I have not replied to your thread sooner. Am very busy and during all Jan. my time here on WA will be short.

Chris' advice is sound. Caution and more research are in order. Can not yet make a call from your photos alone, but the eagle and shield cause concern. I do not like the eagle and shield, and would not purchase the sun helmet from your photos. May we see the helmet overall, it's interior, and chin strap?

Yeah, I agree that more info. is needed before making full judgement. By artificial aging on the shield, I was referring to the black toning around the edge of the silver center section of the shield as well as around the edge. The overall appearance resembles pewter that has been made to look aged or more three dimentional. The zinc, plated brass, and alloy shields I have look different in their states of oxidation/wear. Just my observations.
