    Chaplain's Visor???

Opinions on what branch of the German military this Chaplain's visor was for and also opinions on its originality.

Not my area, but thought I would post it here since I have been following the Chaplain's thread and spotted this one at a dealer's shop.

It is my understanding that it is a fake, but here it is for discussion.

These are the Erel fakes that Stonemint and I have seen a lot of recently. Not sure when they were made but I am pretty sure in the last 5-10 years. We have seen a lot of political ones. Take a good look and don’t be fooled if you see one.

Lots of Navy hats come out with this type of insignia. For some reason, the fakers seem to like this wreath rather than the more complicated 1st type. Not sure why, but all the new Erels have this type of insignia

Lieproo--where did you get the info they were coming from Argentina? I always heard they were German-made.

Anyway, these things are usually (but not always) heavier than real Erels. They do a good job on the sweatbands, but they overlooked a few details.

There seems to be more of these coming out of the woodwork lately--I don't know if they are still being made, or its just a matter of their having been "outed" and they are now being dumped by their owners.

I have yet to see a common visor by this faker--they are always uncommon ones, such as Chaplain, Generals, Teno, and the most recent, the Reichsbahn Direktor at the MAX last year (that one was modeled on the real one in Shutt's book).

Lieproo is correct. This photo was sent to me from Argentina--the shop of Adolfo Martinez. Not sure if this is the same person who offered you the visor 3 years ago. Note the display cases under the cap.
