M34 opinion Please

Ok I've had this cap for over 20yrs , I honestly dont know about it and want to ask you guys. First let me tell you somethings the soutache I sewed in when I first got it to replace what was missing of red thread. I've given it a burn test on any loose repealing ropes that it had and they burned not melted. And I've given it a blacklight test on the insignia which passed (not to say fakes pass now adays with I'm finding out). It seems never to been worn and the eagle is sewin in the upside down flip over hand stitch. And last but not least when I got it it smelled awful of camfer which still has a hint of it today. What's really thrownin me of is the eyelets, they did have dics on the inside but have worked loose and gone missing over the years.

Lining,soutache,grommets all look bad to me. Original insignia.

The air vent grommets are not original which that in and of itself tells me that this cap is a reproduction.

Thanks Glenn I know the soutache is fake I rummaged through my mom's sewing box back then to put it on. As I mentioned before I've had this cap for umpteen years.
