Did Reichsbahn caps with stars on them exist

I spoke to an old french resistance fighter who told me of an occasion when they shot two German Reichsbahn workers in France. He explained that they had confused the two men with German Generals because they had several stars on their caps.
I dont know anything about Reichsbahn caps, but as far as I know they didnt have any stars or other such symbols on them. Am I wrong, or was there a model of cap that could loosely match this description of "with many stars on it"?

    Thanks

    J-L

No stars on RB caps.... (nor on Heer General's caps...)
No German branches had "many" or "any" stars on their caps as far as I know...

Perhaps Polish POW's..... at a rail yard? That would be a tragedy!

Nick is correct--they have no stars. However, they did use all-gold insignia (regardless of rank), so they may have assumed the DRB man was a general.

Along those lines, I read somewhere where US troops picked off a surrendering Reichsbahn man, because they thought his uniform was black (they are dark blue), and thus SS.

Likewise, OT troops of low rank also got picked off, simply because of their NSDAP armbands and brown uniforms, which mistakenly caused partisans to presume they were high-ranking goldfasanen(!)

        Thanks for the responses guys.
I was defenetely 2 Reichsbahn men who were killed, because I have found traces of the event in local archives.
I guess there were no stars, but the golden insignias and large caps gave the impression that the men were high ranking officers.
