field cap opinions please?

I have been offered this cap for purchase and would like some opinions please. I am not good at cloth or uniforms and usualy stick to P.38 pistols. It appears to be a very nice piece but I am not sure of the authenticity of it. I know the seller very well and he allowed me to take some photo's to get your help.
