Lw White top cap opinion

I would like to know your opinions about this cap. IMO it is an Erel late war made, but I want to read more. Thanks in advance.

I hate to always be the buzz kill but IMO the top does not belong with the base , although both are original. Erel made 2 types of removable tops. One in which the lining stayed with the base and one in which the lining was still in the removable top. This one looks like the later. The top that would go with this cap IMO would contain a semi lining with the Erel shield and logo. It also does not look to be the best fit.

You might be right, I owned a similar cap, same sweatband, similar inkstamp dated same month and year and it had a semi lining plus the shield in the removable top.

Good eye (as usual) Nick--I was too transfixed on that late date. I agree, the top is probably not original to the cap--it is too small in relation to it, as well. However, I have seen a few loose white-top LW Erels floating around--maybe someone on the forum can help (but it also has to be the right size to fit the band).

This should get Nick going. The seller is PvL if I'm not mistaken. No axe to grind here but if it were totaly legit, i.e. the top belongs with the bottom (which I don't think it does either, good call Nick) why flog it on ebay and not on the website?
