My findings are as follows:
1. I would like to see the classic Pekuro liner folds, that are not present on this cap.
2. Lets see the grease pencil size marking?
3. Sweatband surely looks used, but we know these SB are easily transplanted into another cap.
4. Liner is stitched in a very non symetrical way.
5. Can we see the peak stiffner?
As I see it I personally don't like the cap, but that's just me.
Can you tell us what material is in that chincord knot
I don't have a problem with the cap itself--it is a late-war Pekuro. Kreager, the pleats are found on the sides and rear of the lining, and later in the war they still used them, but not as pronounced.
I agree with Gene--definately a replaced eagle, and imho, a repro one at that. Unfortunately, Ebay's ban on the Swastika has resulted in a lot of sellers cutting the eagles off. You should be able to find a replacement in the $90 range--make sure you don't get a stone-mint one, and try to use original thread and a professional tailor.
