Fake in my opinion . in the second picture you can see that the slider knot tube is not made of aluminum , just my opinion .

For sure not fake, pre-1945 made, but then maybe not German?

I don't see anything wrong with it.

Can you tell what material the knot is formed around?

Yes, it could aluminum or cardboard, not plastic though. If plastic, postwar. Looks like it has a chance though.

No ,not plastic - the knots are build around rolls of cardboard. If original, what branch/rank that would be?

Aluminium is not the only material used on an original cord. As Gerard mentioned you will see cardboard as well.

I have got the total of 3 such cords. Mint, unused, just a couple have darker parts - because have been stored wrapped in paper and the parts that showed out of it have darkened from the air.

I'd like to put two on Estand, so can you please tell me, for what branch and rank of the army these cords would be, or are political? On pictures I see such yellow cords on General visors and on Political visors, what are mine? And what would be the value?

Political or General officer I would assume.

Thank you very much for the information - and the last thing, can someone give me a rough value for this? Thanks!
