Polizei cap for questions

Police cap made of summerfabric.

I don't like the interior.

Whole cap seems in mint condition, so why is the sweatshield missing

Sweatband looks postwar to me. Is that a plastic reed to which the sweatband is stiched?

This type of cloth was also used by postwar police forces.

These Caps with this Interior are used by the early "Grenzpolizei" in the 1950er Years!

Hello Ernst-H and Hannes.

Thanks for the comments. There is no sweatshield missing.
There is a plastic reed present, which is stitched between the sweatband.
Both should indicate at postwar.
But in the book "German Police", vol.1 written by John R. Angolia and Hugh Page Taylor on page 653 in IMO the same cap.
Are they making a mistake or am I missing the clue?
