    Tropical Kriegsmarine field cap.

    Hi Gentlemen,
i'd be interested to know your opinions about this Officer Kriegsmarine tropical field cap. Internally is marked B.A. ! inside the typical squared logo of the Bekleidungs Amt of the navy and it has the tropical model cockade just upon the frontal seam.
    Every your opionios are welcome.
    Regards,
    Alex

I have seen the BAW stamp in a 100% original tropical navy cap. Of course are not often seen.

Alex was there a cat involved with your cap?

Any verifiable history on the cap Alex?

There are many details which cause concerns: multiple eagle applications, embroidered cockade, odd position of cockade, sloppy construction, etc.
                        Regards,
                        John

                          Hi Tony,
unfortunately not verifiable story on it; it just cames from an old collection and i'm in the process to study it; notice the tropical cockade maybe for the Luftwaffe caps in place the bevo model. I think the multiple tracks of stitchings in the eagle area, are relative to a zig zag stitched bullion eagle. Who knows...

Didn't M-41 tropical visor field caps (for Navy) have GREEN lining, & metal gommit vents holes on the sides?

Not all had green or red linings. I have seen some with gray colored and tan. If ti was a private purchase it could or could not have the gromets. Have seen 1 field made cap that came with province from my grandfathers friend. The cap did not have grommets and his friend shot the german and took it. He got it in italy so i know they are out there. But this cap has some interesting points about its design. Matt
