    Afrikakorps Gebirgsjäger cap?

What are your thoughts on this cap?

At best, a private purchase cap. At worst, a complete repro. Can we see the interior of the air vent grommets, and under the sweatband?
    Regards,
    Mark.
PS - NOT AFRIKAKORPS at all.

looks similar to a cap BenVK had sometime last year close up shot would help indeed
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

        ...

Would look believable for a private purchase one, but have to see a closeup on the gromets. Also If you could make a photo of the inside front, with the sweatband flapped down.

I´ve asked the seller for better pictures. I will post them here as soon as I got them.

Mine was very similar, no grommets though. The seller of mine said it came from a vet who served in Italy. Whether that's true or not I don't know but I had no issues with my cap. It just felt right if you know what I mean. Nice to see another with the same construction traits. Field made? Italian tailor? Don't know but I like them!

Sweatband could have been from the same cut of leather.

Well, Depending on price, I'd actually take a punt on this one. The sweatband shows wear as I'd like to see it, the button holes look to be hand sewn (a nice detail) and all fading/wear is consistant. It has a lot of character and I'd like to examine it if I had the chance.
                  Good Luck ,
