German Officers Mountain M43

I just picked up this mountain troop officers hat from a veterans estate. The son knows his father fought in Italy and Germany, but doesn't know where the hat was obtained. More photos to follow - but how's it look so far?

This fabric was used to make light weight tunics and trousers as well. I have a Jaeger tunic made out of this type of cloth in gray. Looks good!

Here is a picture of the liner. Smooth cotton with a full leather sweatband. Has some sweat staining along the bottom edge. Still seem OK? s/f Robert
