    M43 Tropical Cap Opinion

Since I'm not really a cap guy, could I get your opinions on this one. From what I can tell, the weaving looks correct and the vents could of been painted at one time. The cap has the correct red lining, but should there be a middle seam inside? Unsure of the eagle.

    Thanks Jeff

Isn't this bird a tunic breast eagle ?
This "detail" excepted, the rest looks OK to me, but we'll surely have more accurate opinions ; no pic of the air vents from inside ?
About the "middle inside seam", am I right to say it's not an absolute rule ?

              Mmm, tastes good IMO, Jeff...
              Any DAK-specialist's opinion ?

Is the cap tan or olive? Can't tell for sure from the photos.

Does anyone have a cap with the same style and print type of that maker's logo? It looks very modern in appearance, and if I use my EM LW visor's Halfar logo as a reference the two don't match in the slightest. Is it the pic, or is the maker logo also HUGE in this cap?

I think in part the stamping looks large due to the close up of the shot. Looking over the new photos that were sent to me, the red liner does have a seam down the middle. Originally, the phtos that were sent to me were lacking of certain details. On the brim photo, the stamping would appear to the left and can be partially seen on one of the vent shots.

                        Hi Jeff,

As far as I can see, I don't have a problem with this cap. Seems Ok. Also the breast eagle does not frighten me, we all know the picture of an SS-officer wearing a Wehrmacht eagle on his sleeve ...

Some other pics perhaps, Bill ? I'd be happy to see more of this one.

The stamping is very similar indeed. On the hat I posted, the stamping does seem somewhat thicker. Might this be due to the wear on the hat. Looking at the inside of the hat I posted, strong evidence shows repeated perspiration causing a bleeding or faded appearance of the red liner. One might assume that the same would occur to the stamping also causing the stamping to bleed beyond it original boarders. The Collectors Guild had a similar hat sold. The stamping on this CH is very different. http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Heer/photos/H53948.html[/url] .
