The cap is genuine. The insigina, probably post war replaced. But yes, blue grey backed cockades (and probably eagles) were sometimes applied to tropical side caps.

Hello, Insignia look original placed to me. No traces of other insignia.
              Very nice cap.

              Regards,

I'm no expert on these, but that's a nice sidecap! Would love to have one in my collection, lucky score for you! Chris...

Hey Guys, maybe John or someone can help with this. I took this particular cap in trade. To me, the eagle looks odd, it doesn't have the feather detail threads that separate the wings. Is someone fasmiliar with this eagle? To me, the cockade looks like a cut down standard one. Opinions appreciated.

The cap itself is a nice original with an accepted and recognised Berolina font/stamp.
I agree on the Adler though, it lacks detail and neatness compared to the ones i'm used to seeing. Not one i'm familiar with.

The bird is very unusual Gerard and I have not seen one quite like it before. The lack of stitching between the feathers is not normal. The cockade is non standard as well and, if original, not typical German design.

                            Best,
                            John
