    Cheasy Army Hat eagles?

Picked up these two stamped late hat eagles. Any idea on value? What with all the denazification there is a restoration need I'm sure. Odd that one is dull and one is bright. What hat would these go on? Doug

I THINK these were ORIGINALLY designed for the WH winter fur caps started from 1942.. And continued production to wars end as a production expedient timesaver.. They are not too often seen but sometimes are period mounted on later visor caps.. They are fairly common and not overly desired.. mostly stamped in zinc I think.. 45 for the pair might move them...JMHO Billbert

I've had 30 of the fur hats.

Years ago I got a box of ten of them from a Vet with aluminum army eagles with pin type prongs on them all. I've had them with nothing as well. They are not rare or anything. I just don't seem to remember any with this stamped type of eagle. I do think that on the fur hat makes the most sense though. Doug
