Oh boy, another round of Nick and Peter?

Well Right now I can say nothing definitive but I will say I can see some things that are not giving me the warm and fuzzy’s. The good thing is contract caps in hand are a breeze to tell if they have been messed with. The linings are not forgiving. From what I see the sweatband looks awfully narrow, cut down? Next here you can see the impression of where the sweatband sat. How does the current sweatband match up to these marks when folded down? That is the first thing I would look at in-hand. Hard to tell anything from the pics but I would give any contract color piped even more attention than I would a private purchase. Good? Bad? I don't know. In hand I could tell you though.

If this is the same mark I showed in the last pic we are not off to a good start.

Nick- I'm not so sure that the mark you point out necessarily corresponds to the top of the sweatband- it could be the result of the way the padding gauze sits behind the lining (if there is a ridge or fold in the gauze, dirt could build up there)...just a thought...

I have been around this hobby long enough (along with my background in physics ) to know it would not create an inward crease. A pushed out crease maybe.

Follow the rest of the breaks in the wear marks. All I am saying is this is no one looker as described.

                      Nick,

                      I have to disagree.

One can even see how the lining bulges.

I just know that the heavy lightening used by Peter makes things look a bit peculiar. I had this cap in hand a couple weeks ago when i was visiting Stockholm, and there where dirt all the way from where the sweatband ends and totally clean under. But 1000W just cm from the cap "removes" dirt just the most heavy stains are visable. As the lining bulges a bit at the part Nick have shown there are more heavy dirt at tah place as it should as the soldiers hair would be more exposed to that area.

In hand the cap have no problem for me anyhow. But as with all WSS cap and the ones with coloured piping it naturally need a hands on examination.

I made Peter aware of the thread but he commented he have no reason to defend the cap, the one who don´t like it should not buy it.

It is a shame you are in the wrong part of the world for making a hands on.

Since you had it in hand you have one up on me that is for sure. It is still one anyone buying needs to examine though.

Absolutly, all coloured piped WSS Visorcaps must be looked over with the biggest scepsis, they should be treated as suspect till proven originals.

Man, there's a lot of 'hands on' in that part of the world but very little purchasing!!!!!

The subject cap would cause me concern and I (do) wonder why there's always a bit of a flood from (locals), (cliques), (friends) etc. when dealer's wares come to question!! The deal is so good...why not buy it rather than defend it???
                            Regards,
                            Dave

Lasse I just relooked at the pics. Can you tell us how you checked it? Not that I don’t trust your opinion but those marks and the width of the sweatband are still bothering me.
