For starters the backing material for the wreath/cockade should be black. The eagle has been replaced and if it matches the wreath is probably bad as well.
Any better pics of the interior?

The cap is bad.

Indeed a poor copy. The sweatshield appears to be plastic even...not (brittle) celluloid...

This one is a good reference piece of what an Alteste is, as the shield hasn't been pulled out "YET".

Nick was saying recently that if you can get one of these cheap, you can learn a lot about older fakes.

Hi Nick, I knew you'd like this one. I've not seen a lufty one either.

That is the first Alteste LW with all-bullion insignia I have seen. For some reason, they shyed away from bullion insignia. The other LW was an officer's with metal NCO insignia. While they were good at getting the general shape of the hats, they really sucked in the embroidery department--its almost as bad as the Pakistani stuff of late.
