Army EM/NCO M-34 Feldmutze Overseas Cap

I am looking for opinions on this M-34, not so much for originality but on the issue of the soutache and if this would be an approprite issue (year wise) for a Heer soldier that was initially a second wave reservist in 1941 and subsequently called up in the summer of 1942. I know that all M34's originally had a soutache that I.D.'d branch service until a regulation in 1942 abolished its use. My understanding that they were to be removed from the caps. Do you think that this applies to this cap and is this issue cap (year wise) appropriate for the Heer soldier I outlined. I believe so on both but would love any confirmation from the forum. Thanks in advance
    Best regards,
    Todd

I like the second cap better..both had soutache..The first ones inside is in 2 materials ..a period rework most likely..Billbert

I respectfully disagree that having 2 different lining materials means it is a rework. Just my opinion.

PLEASE dont put words in my mouth .. In this case it dictates a rework..I DID NOT SAY when two materials are used it is a rework.. In this cap however I beleive its true.. JMHO Billbert

                      Billbert and hcliff,
Thank you for your replys. Just from a "look" standpoint I do prefer the second of the two. This would have been an issued item for a Heer soldier in 1941? Just double checking.
                      Best to all,
                      Todd

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
