Overall it looks like a nice Salty cap, with some repairs. I would really like to see this one in hand.

                  an unloved question, i know.
How much, do you think, is the value of this salty thing?

Pardon my ignorance, but is it recon copper brown or a very faded red, orange? There is a red thread in the lower right corner of the cockade and it looks like bright red compared to the waffenfarbe. I also wasn't sure what "ari" means.

Ari means Artillery. Sorry, but its a common nickname in the german army.
I think the red thread is from the backside of the kokarde.

Thanks...I should have known, but I figured it must have a "T" in it to be short for artillery. I guess you looked real close and found areas that are not faded on the piping. I sold several crushers in the $1,200.00 to $1800.00 USD range this past year, two with fairly rare piping.

I like this one. The sweatband has had obvious repairs but it looks to be period done.
