    New maker for list?

    Gents..i believe this is the first time i have ever seen this maker..in any event, it is scarce. Interestingly, from the threads here, i see another member has a cap from a manufacturer located on the same street as the maker of my cap..

    Here it is..a really nice and salty aufklarungs NCO visor cap.Notice on the side the wear, from where the constant rubbing of the headset has worn down the piping!

              Nco's could upgrade to officer quality insignia, and what is interesting, is that you will often see it on cavalry visors when you do!..

              The bullion wreath and cokarde on this cap is really starting to corrode..it's seen a bit of use!..

                This cap has officer side buttons; did someone convert from officer to enlisted? That would be a first!

                  I really don't know why it was done..it just was..this cap is untouched, un-messed with since coming home..not 'enhanced' as it were..

                  What i really want to discuss is the maker..!

                    Interesting cap Doug, Not all NCO's could upgrade to Bullion insignia, only certain levels of NCO rank.

                    "Wouldn't want a hairy arsed corporal swanking around in silver threads"

                    Note: If able to wear the bullion insignia, the chin cord would most lightly be bullion too to go with the silver buttons.

                      Yes, the higher rankers could go for the more posh look..it was worn this way, and hard in it's day..no bullion chin cord...

                      In hand, you can see where the salt has penetrated into the liner, sweatband etc..the front part of the liner is virtually worn out from its previous owners forehead.
