I'll go for an easier spot. The soutache is not applied in the way one would expect, in regards to the bottom end diving into the cap base above the top row of bottom edge stitching.

For a piece knocked up by Clemens Wagner, before the soutaches were scrapped in 42 I think, I would have expected better finishing of this bit.

The soutache has been re-applied (incorrectly) and the eagle and cockade are also re-applied, the cockade being done incorrectly too.

Whoever re-did this cap didn't study up much the night before...
