Hi Mike, great hat. Maybe its Joachim Muncheberg's(Oakleaves and Swords) hat. I believe this to be an Erel he's wearing as there are close up pics of him wearing a whitetop Erel. He has the brim edge removed also. I was told the pilots removed the brim edge to make it more easily bendable and to allow the googles to slip off the brim smoother. Yes on the first part dont get the second. The eagles look pretty close. Best, Bill Bourque
