    Schirmmütze Artillerie maker Joh. Klementz

    Schirmmütze Artillerie maker Joh. Klementz

    Hello guys,

Has somebody ever heard of the cap maker Joh. Klementz from Insterburg?
What do you think of the caps eagle? Looks like it doesn´t match the cockade. Probably added after the war?

    Regards,

    Grenadier

        Hi Grenadier,

cap looks good, not heard of the maker before and don't have Wilkins book handy to check if he has any details.

I like the cap from the inside and front on views. Artillery is my waffenfarbe, so I am biased towards anything good in red.

              Thanks for your reply

              Thanks for your reply sturmbannfuhrer.

I have the Wilkins book myself. No info about the cap maker in there. So i wandered if any of you guys could help me out. Glad to hear you like it. I am just a bit concerned about the eagle.

I have some info of Insterburg. It was a town in former East-Prussia. In 1940 it had a population of 49,000. All Germans were replaced by Russians after the war. Now it´s a russian city called Tsjernjachovsk. So I believe that the cap could be a rare one. I hope that somebody heard of the maker before.

Below is a picture I found of the Hindenburgstrasse in Insterburg. Strange to think that it could have been created in one of those buildings.

              Regards, Grenadier

                Hallo grenadier
                Visor looks fine
Probably, Klementz used some different patterns, because I've seen once his logo impressed in silver italics on the sweatshield.
                best regards

                      Arty Cap

I have an NCO visor cap (also Artillery) from the same maker.

                      Best, John
