SS Officers Visor Cap? Opinions please

whipcord wool cap has silver piping, soft patten-leather visor, black velvet cap band which does not move, celluloid sweat shield that snaps, grey lining material & a non-perforated leather sweat band with a small split pin at back. Insignia has been removed. found at an antique shop approx. 15 yrs ago. Opinions please?

This cap needs to be discussed, disected and its like spread about the net as they are so good, dangerous and obviously costly to an unknowing buyer!
