An excellent and rare photo find like your cap Mark , not that your cap ever needed any type of proof

          Thanks Guys,
          I'm rapt, I admit it
Great image of the 2nd pattern tunic as well. You can't help but ask if this young man made it through. It already looks like he has a wound badge...

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Proof 100% , really nice photo (& cap). 2nd pattern tunic would imply late '42 or early '43 time frame for your cap, not early or late war anyway....

                regards
                Tim

                  Hi Tim,
                  Cheers Mate
Thanks everyone else for your kind words. Tim, I know a forum member here who has a 1941 dated 2nd pattern tropical tunic...perhaps we should rethink our generalizations regarding timelines....interesting

Well your right then. Did not know 2nd patterns showed up that early, very interesting.... not many in '41 though, still think your cap is mid-war more likely ? But yes, that does force one to re-think the tunic & maybe cap timelines.

                    cheers
                    Tim

Great photo! If there is ever a 2nd edition to Gary Wilkins' book -- this would go well with his example of a similar cap.

If only that tunic were a 1st pattern
...I wouldn't have told you about it and bought it myself
