I got this one today, and I don't recall ever seeing one like it.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

i think its a womens auxiliary cap os some sort and i think it should have an eagle on the bottom portion of the cap just below the front scallopp ,im not sure if that is the right color insignia for this type of cap ? gerard would be the guy to ask i am sure he has handled this type before
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

I agree with Lenny! Helferin mutze ("blitz maedel") with the eagle in the wrong position...
Most likely denazified and restored incorrectly!

I like the application of the insignia, even if it is in the wrong location.

Yes, I also like the application. Also, there is no indication of any other insignia ever having been attached to the cap in another location.

I believe its a stabs helferin cap, and from previous examples I've seen and the few piccies. On each of them the eagle is actually in the same position on those, so I can only assume despite other heer helferin having the eagle on the lower part of the cap, the stabs helferin wore their eagle on the upper part.

The osprey picture is for a nachrichtenhelferinnen a totally different female auxilary role
