heer m-43 caps x2 interesting examples

cap #1 has had the side turns cut off and liner sewn back together original stitching still goes 3/4 the way back then has been period reaplied nice marked rayon liner, and original machine sewn "T" type insignia the overall look of this cap reminds me of a m-41 cap .

cap #2 is a nice used original with its original machine sewn trap insignia that is comming apart in a few spots it seems they tucked a lot of extra material behind the insignia ,cotton twill tunic liner material with all the bias material one would want with an original also it has that nice pinched look no matter how you display it.

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

                  Both killer caps! Congrats!
I have a Polizei M43 also with the sides cut off. (vet bring back from Italy). Makes it a lot lighter and more comfortable to wear in hotter climates. It was done sometimes...otherwise its 3 layers of wool!! I have seen a period pictures of an SS M43 cap also treated like that!

Killer caps, I love soldier modified gear like the first cap. Anyone have any period photos of modified caps like this in use or can point me to a book or reference? Any chance you can post some photos of your polezei cap Nick, would love to see that one as well?

                    Kind Regards,

                    -Seth

                          Sure Seth
                          As requested!
Here's my modified cap. Captured in Italy along with the tunic (vet bring back I was told). These are way lighter and more comfortable when cut down like this! (not more triple layers of wool!)
